Press Release Summary: Tips on how to make the bridal show experience easy and fun.

Press Release Body: A Bridal Show is a great place to start your wedding plans.
Held at various types of venues they can be quite large (100+ vendors) or small
(10-20 vendors). Regardless of size, the main purpose is the same, you get a chance
to see the local professionals - see examples of their work, taste cake and food
samples, and collect vendor literature.

While tempting, now is not the time to do all of your planning in a whirlwind of a
few hours. You want to be a savvy shopper, and select just the right vendors for
you. Before you go, here are some tips offered by Jean Neuhart, Professional Bridal
Consultant, and owner of Weddings From The Heart, to make the trip easier, fun, and
worthwhile.

Create a game plan. Which types of vendors you are most interested in? Are you
looking for a DJ or maybe a florist? Decide what vendors you most want to see, and
visit them first.

Things to bring: Pen and paper to take notes. A tote bag for flyers and brochures.
Address labels to fill out contest and door prize slips. Cash for admission and to
purchase a snack or beverage. Checkbook or credit card in case you find the perfect
vendor and want to put down a deposit.

Wear comfortable shoes. You'll be much happier if you're comfortable. Also, wear
clothing with pockets. When you come across a vendor you especially want to
remember, place that card in your pocket instead of the tote bag, getting mixed up
with other cards and flyers.

Bring only one or two people. Bring mom, your fiancé or maid of honor. They can
help carry brochures, and you'll have someone to bounce ideas off of. Don't bring a
whole entourage. It's hard to keep a large group together, and too many people =
too many different opinions.

Eat before going. Not all shows offer snacks for purchase, and you don't want to be
hungry. Enjoy trying caterer and baker samples. Just don't make a meal out of it.

Take notes. Jot down prices, package info, and your personal opinions. Is there
anything about a vendor that stands out? Is he or she courteous or grumpy? Are
they happy to be there, or want to be elsewhere? A few notes will remind you who
you want to contact later, and who to steer clear of!

The Fashion Show. If you want to attend, find a seat early, at least 20-30 minutes
before it starts. However, if you aren't interested in the fashion show, use this
time to talk to vendors you are most interested in. It will be more quiet and calm,
giving you a better chance of their undivided attention.

If you do choose to book someone, carefully read everything to ensure that they will
truly suit your style and wedding vision. Ask questions to make sure what they offer
is really right for you. You don't want that 'great deal' to turn out to be a
headache because you didn't notice the "additional costs" or the "fine print".
